Life Update Winter 2020

It feels like it should already be a new year. This year has been a crazy one to say the least. We have been through the wringer, but God always comes through for us. I feel pretty distant from people lately so I’m just going to update everyone on how our life has been lately. It will mostly be of pictures, because lets be honest that is still really what people want to see instead of listening to my rambling!

January 2020

Ruby ended up being hospitalized for 5 days. Very scary. We were very lucky. She had great care from Blank Children’s Hospital. I can not say enough about their staff. Everyone was amazing and got us through Ruby not feeling well and us as parents being very anxious about how the outcome was going to be, because our hospital stay visits usually have difficult endings. God was with us through and through. If you don’t have a community, get yourself a community. People were praying for us, Ruby was sent stuffed animals (which she named Taco- appropriate for our daughter if you know her), coffee lots of coffee!!!!, and FaceTimes (since we were in isolation).

Here she is extremely happy to be unhooked from her oxygen and IVs. We praise God every day that he saved this amazing little ball of energy!!!

February 2020

February we got to celebrate my husband‘s birthday as a family. Ruby was extremely excited for the cookie cake and ice cream. Pretty sure she thought it was for her and not her daddy.

We also found out we were going to have a baby boy!!! We were all very surprised since we have 2 girls already. I thought for sure it was going to be another little girl. We are all very excited to have a boy, especially my husband.

March 2020

March is another crazy month for us. It’s my birthday, Eleanor’s birthday, and our anniversary. We ended up traveling to Missouri to go visit Eleanor’s grave. It was nice to all be together as a family in a spot to remember her even though we know she is in Heaven. It was her 3rd birthday this year!! Crazy to think we have a 3 year old.

When we got back from celebrating Eleanor’s birthday is when everything with the COVID-19 exploded. My husband and I are both considered essential workers so not much has changed for us. Other than my husband is now also taking care of Ruby after working his night shift. Pray for him you guys. He is an amazing daddy and doing great with our daughter, but Ruby is also 0 to 100 in less than a second so she is always on the go. We have been enjoying time together as a family on the weekends since we can’t go anywhere. It’s definitely not all roses, but if I step back to watch us, it is so sweet to be able to have this time together as a family of four before we become 5 in June.

We have been able to spend a lot of time outside!! Thank you Jesus for sunshine!!! Also if you were wondering Ruby still loves all things dogs and usually you can find her with one of her “woof woofs.”

We hope everyone is enjoying their family time that we don't normally get. We have had our moments, but for the most part we have been trying to enjoy it!! I would love to see how everyone is spending their family time!! We have mostly been having tons of dance parties!
